Day 1: Arrival in Kathmandu (1300 m)

Welcome to Nepal! Upon your arrival in Kathmandu Airport, you’ll be met at the airport by our representative.
There’s a short drive to the Gokarna Forest Resort, our peaceful haven on the outskirts of Kathmandu. This is your hotel base before and after trek. Your program on the hotel will be on Bed & breakfast plan.
You’ll be served with welcome drink and will start briefing about your programs and collect necessary documents for permit for the trekking.

Gokarna Forest Resort is located inside the serene temperate Gokarna Forest, the former private Royal hunting grounds of the Kings of Nepal. A winding road climbs leads through the forest up to the main complex, comprising a mix of subtly majestic Malla period architecture, Rana period lodges, and sanctuaries harmoniously blending with nature. Further on exotic Forest View cottage rooms are set beside a century old restored Hunter’s lodge. A quiet peaceful haven set between ancient towering trees with glimpses of the second fairway in the valley below make the perfect getaway for a few days of golf, relaxation and rejuvenation at the Spa, enchanting forest walks, and time close to nature.

Day 2: Kathmandu – Pokhara (900 m) – Majgaon (1400 m) (B, L, D)

Transfer to the domestic airport for your 25 minute flight to the destination of Pokhara, the second largest tourist city of Nepal. This flight offers spectacular views of the chains of Langtang, Manaslu and Annapurna.

Upon arrival in Pokhara, we’ll have a briefing at the Ker & Downey head office before we transfer by road with guides & porters to our trek start point {1-hour}. Our walk will follow a ridgeline in the lower foothills of the Annapurnas with surrounding views of the Pokhara Valley and the Modi valley where Ker & Downey's Gurung lodge is located. The lodge has magnificent views of the surrounding Annapurna range.

After lunch at the lodge, we take rest and enjoy the views of the region along with the mountains. During the evening time, should there be more than 6 guests, the children along with the mother group will visit your place and perform local dances and typical songs of the region.

Day 3: Majgaon (B, L, D)

In the morning after a leisurely breakfast with the mountains as a backdrop, we will take a hike to the bee village where we met the mayor and have tea in his house. He will then show us around his village including a visit to the local school. Lunch will be a traditional Nepalese meal served in one of the village houses. After lunch, you may choose to do a hike up to the nearby village of Tanchok, where there is a traditional house now made into a museum. The contents of the house illustrate how the local people live, together with the tools and implements of day to day traditional village life. You may also choose to visit the local school.

Day 4: Majgaon – Pokhara (B, L)

Walk down till Lumle where we take our vehicle down to Pokhara. Then, we visit the beautiful city of Pokhara. Pokhara has become a major tourist destination since the advent of trekking in Nepal. It is set in the heart of a large subtropical valley. Pokhara valley also has a beautiful lake, Phewa Lake. It’s the largest that borders the city to the southwest. It is the heart of the tourism industry in Pokhara. You can enjoy pleasant walks or cycling along the lake side. It is also possible to rent a small rowing boat to enjoy the surroundings of this beautiful lake. En route we can stop to visit the Tibetan Refugee Camp upon request.

Overnight at Temple Tree Resort

Day 5: Pokhara – Bandipur (1030 m) – Dhamal Danda (1011 m) (B, L, D)

This morning we transfer to Bandipur, a journey of some 2 hours through the country side. Bandipur was established as an important point of trade by Newars, traders from Bhaktapur in the Kathmandu Valley who were chased after being conquered in 1768 by the king of the Shah dynasty, Prithvi Narayan Shah. This was an important trading centre where the people from south traded with the people in north (India – Tibet).

After visiting Bandipur, we leave Bandipur and trek for an easy three hours to the Panorama lodge which as its name suggests has amazing views of the Himalayas and surrounding valley. In the afternoon, we will explore the local Gurung tribal village which is rarely visited by any foreigners. We will have tea in a local house and watch the villages as they brew their rice and millet wines.

Day 6: Dhamal Danda – Seti River Camp (270 m) (B, L, D)

After breakfast we begin our trek through unspoilt countryside to the Seti River Camp. The walk allows us magnificent views from the ridgeline. We also hike through surrounding forests and remote nearby villages where no other travel companies go. We then descend to the river bank where our camp is located. After our hike, we can take a dip in the river. Lunch is at the camp. The afternoon is free to explore the landscaped gardens, riverbank, or just relax in a hammock or tree house. Evenings are spent around an open fire of driftwood, at this unique safari-style river camp.

Day 7: Seti River Camp – Chitwan (150 m) (B, L, D)

After having breakfast, we will have a briefing from our rafting team and then we gear up for it. Floating down the river gives us a chance to see village life along the banks as well as the abundant variety of birds.
The Seti River has five rapids of Class II. It takes us almost 3 hours (lunch will be picnic on a sandy beach on the way) to reach Gaighat where we find our vehicle which will transfer us to the Kasara Resort “Simple Luxury Jungle Resort”, exterior to Chitwan National Park.

Day 8: Chitwan (B, L, D)

Whole day jungle activities inside the Chitwan National Park: elephant ride in search of rhinoceros, Bengal Tiger (if you are lucky), deer, birds, monkeys… canoeing in the Rapti river, walk in the jungle, elephant ride or jeep safari etc. And during the evening time, cultural dance of the ethnic group Tharu who are the origin of Terai.

Day 9: Chitwan – Kathmandu (B)

After the breakfast in the Resort, we will be transferred to the Bharatpur Airport and take a 30 minutes flight back to Kathmandu. On arrival in Kathmandu, we’ll transfer to the hotel. Then you’ve free time to relax or head into the city. We find most people want to simply unwind and enjoy the hotel facilities – whatever you choose, we’ll help!

Day 10: Kathmandu (B)

After enjoying a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we’ll be met by our guide for our day trip to a few of the Kathmandu valley’s most spectacular and important sights and some vibrant, colourful markets.
With a meld of three ancient capitals and their associated palaces, temples and markets of Kathmandu has a lot to offer culturally and historically. However, we’re mindful not to overload you so we will ensure the day has a good balance between sightseeing, exploring and relaxation time.
The exact itinerary may change depending on the local conditions but we shall most likely visit:

  • Pashupatinath, one of the most important temples in South Asia to the Hindu God, Lord Shiva;
  • One of the three Durbar (Palace) Squares, a complex of palaces and temples which was formally the social, religious and administrative focal point of the ancient city
  • Boudhanath Stupa, a wonderful Buddhist site centered on a huge Stupa topped with the all-seeing eyes. If possible we’ll come here in the early evening to soak up the atmosphere of hundreds of Tibetan and Sherpa peoples walking their devotional khora

Day 11: Departure from Kathmandu
